Grammarly Review - An Online Grammar Checker

In this blog post, I’m not only publishing Grammarly review for your reading pleasure but also to expose you to the importance of writing error-free content for your intended audience. It doesn’t matter whether or not you’re a native English speaker or writer; everyone is prone to mistakes and errors though the magnitude of mistakes may differ from person to person.

And if your goal is to provide your readers with quality content, the onus is on you to take a step further to edit and proofread your writings manually or with the use of software such as Grammarly.

While it’s quite possible to manually correct your written work for glaring errors, I can guarantee that you are bound to skip hidden spelling and grammatical mistakes for obvious reasons. First, reading your writing will always flow with your thought.

Even if you hand it over to your family and friends to proofread and edit for you, I can also assure you that they may not be thorough in their work because they are not professional proofreaders or editors who will bring critical minds to the table. Everyone can make mistakes if absolute care is not taken to make your writing free from errors.

It’s even worse in this era of the internet where newly coined words are surfacing by the day with careless abandon. These words have not been officially anglicized and recognized. You cannot find these words anywhere except on the World Wide Web.

Using online grammar tool like Grammarly will not only help you to be mindful of English usage but will intuitively train you to know how to properly use words in context. The software has built-in grammar checker as well as plagiarism checker.

If you’re concerned about sentence structure, syntax, writing style, spelling and grammatical mistakes in your content, it’s very important you consider getting this online grammar checker with explanation. It’s for everyone even if you’re a native English writer or English is your lingua franca. You need it more if English is your second language because every culture has the tendency to weave their unique colloquial into foreign languages.

With that said, let me briefly go through this Grammarly review; but if you’re in a hurry and want to go to Grammarly official website, click here now to do so.

As a freelance writer, I needed one of the best online grammar checkers to help me come up with content free from common grammar mistakes, errors and disheveled sentence structure. This is the only way to reduce communication gap between my clients and their target readers. Fortunately, I stumbled upon Grammarly online grammar check tool.

On a closer look, I discovered unique features in the software which every writer or author needs to correct and produce near-perfect articles, blog posts, essays, theses, ebooks, white papers, and so on. In my humble opinion, this correction tool is priceless for the work it is doing.

The other day I bought and downloaded an ebook from an internet marketer on a subject I wanted to know more about. The sales copy was okay as it was free from common grammatical mistakes. With the benefit of hindsight, I believe the internet marketer cum merchant must have hired a copywriter to ghostwrite the landing page.

But this is where I’m going. After I’ve downloaded and read the first few pages of the electronic book, I’ve no choice than to give up on reading the e-book and ask for refund. Certainly, the author or ebook writer is not a native English writer; that is okay. But he is also not a good writer by any stretch of the imagination with poor grasp of the English language and usage.

In such circumstances, he needed Grammarly software to do the hard work of correcting his spelling and grammatical mistakes to the barest minimum. If you want your target audience to be engaged with your content, I strongly recommend that you get Grammarly from this link and put it to test. It has the free version for you to test the waters in your next article writing exercise before you hit the publish button.

How to Start Your Own Business Online Part 4

make money from your blog
Today, you’re going to learn ways to monetize a blog and how to monetize a blog so that you can earn money online after starting your own business. So far, I’ve published part 1, part 2 and part 3 of this series on how to start your own business online.

You can click on the above links and read them in that order and come back here to follow up with the rest of the tutorial. You’ve done so well by registering a domain name, buying web hosting service and creating a blog to start your business on the internet. Financially speaking now is the time to get your rewards by adding money links to your blog content.

There are different ways to monetize your blog depending on the niche market where you’re operating from and the content of your website. You may use one or more of these ways to make money blogging. You’ve to test everything if you hope to maximize your ROI (return on investment) from your web site.

Also, it’s good business idea to spy on your competitors to learn what they are doing and is working for them. However, some factors such as the volume of monthly traffic which your blog is getting will be major determinants to your success. Ultimately, it’s important for you to continually hit the pavement to get targeted traffic to your blog.

With that said, let’s go through some of the ways to monetize your blog and make money online.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing business is the commonest way webmasters and bloggers monetize their websites and blogs and make money on the internet. It’s simply a system of promoting merchants’ products and services on their behalf using your affiliate links identifiable to your marketing campaigns and at your own advertising costs in order to earn sales commission from your online marketing efforts.

You can easily calculate your profits from affiliate marketing business by deducting your advertising costs from your earned affiliate commissions. Finding affiliate products and services to promote is not hard to do. With the help of affiliate networks all over the place, you can sign up with multiple vendors to sell other people’s products and services.

Few of these affiliate programs are:

The best way to succeed with affiliate marketing business is to test and use the affiliate product you want to promote before you push it to your readers. It gives you firsthand experience about the efficacy of the product before pre-selling it to your readers and subscribers. For example, because I’ve personally used HostGator website hosting service for years, I can vouch for them as a digital publisher promoting their website builder tools and web hosting services.

From the payments screenshot below, I can readily show and prove it to my readers that I use their services and relate my experience to them. This is how to make money with affiliate marketing without struggling to do so. Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income does this so well and I religiously follow his digital marketing efforts to a Tee to learn from him.

HostGator web hosting

Where you cannot use the product before promotion, you can ask the vendor for review copy if possible so that you can appraise its relevance and usefulness before you get to your target audience. It helps to maintain and sustain your credibility and trust with your market followers.

Google Adsense

This is one of the best ways to make money blogging if you ask me. As it were, majority of publishers and webmasters partner and make money online with Google when they display Google Ads on their web properties. Every time website visitor clicks on any of these adverts, the webmaster earns a percentage of the advertising cost paid to Google by advertisers to show their adverts.

This is one of the top ways to monetize a blog by website owners and bloggers. All you need to do is to start a blog, populate it with regular but quality content, get constant traffic to your blog and then apply to Google Adsense program for approval. As soon as you’ve been approved, you can go ahead to get Adsense codes to place on your blog content.

The type of adverts Google will serve your website visitors will depend on the content of your blog articles. For instance, if you build a blog around freelance writing business, Google may serve adverts related to online grammar checker tool, freelance writing training courses, tools for writers and so on. They have special algorithm that detects what your blog content is all about before displaying adverts related to it.

One of the secrets of making it big with Google Adsense is by targeting long tail keyword phrases which you can easily rank on page one of Google search engine preferably positions 1 to 3. So, you must be good at researching and finding money keywords to target. You should learn how to write SEO articles while avoiding keyword stuffing and padding. SEO stands for search engine optimization.

Also, target niche markets with high CPC. Cost per click (CPC) is the amount of ad spend an advertiser pays to Google for showing his business adverts to his targeted audience. There are niches known for high CPC such as finance, technology, business, etc.

Sell Your Own Digital Products

Creating and selling your own digital products from your blog is where the money really is. Although it involves much more work and time to research product ideas, create it, write sales copy, open customers’ help desk, fulfill orders, etc, you’ll ultimately make money and maximize profits from your hustle.

There are various digital products or services you can develop or simply outsource it to freelancers if you don’t have the skill to do it. Examples include writing and selling ebooks online, developing software, app development, creating videos or audio, and the like. Personally, I love this money making system because you make money online while you sleep.

If you want to learn how to make passive income online, write and sell ebooks online or create other digital products after doing your due diligence. With this online business opportunity, you’ll continue to wake up and see money daily in your PayPal account for work you did a long time ago. It’s a source of daily income as long as the product or service has relevance to your market.

My PayPal Sales Per Day

The above screenshot is from an electronic book I created some years back and I was still earning from it without doing any work. I regularly earn money online from writing and selling e-books online from my websites whether I’m sleeping or on vacation. The shocking news is that I’m not a well-known online marketing guru with thousands of email subscribers and I don’t do product launch.

Although this is one of the best ways to make money blogging, you really need to interact with your blog readers, leads, subscribers and clients to know what they want before creating any digital product. Creating digital product before searching for customers is like putting the cart before the horse. You’ll not sell anything this way except from impulse buyers and you may be inundated with refunds and charge backs at the end of the day.

You can send questionnaires to your subscribers’ list or use survey model to elicit information from your readers. But have a high success rate, you’ve to promise your target audience complimentary copy of the final product as an incentive for them to take action. Other places you can get product ideas are question-and-answer sites like Quora.com and niche specific forums.

Build an Email List of Subscribers

If you sniff around on the World Wide Web, the common cliché you will be reading is “money is in the list.” If you ask me, list building is the best way to make money online and monetize your blog on every level. If you learn how to build an email list from scratch, you’re on your high way of building wealth from the web.

After starting a blog, the only and only tool you need immediately to add to your online business arsenal is email marketing software. There are many list building tools to choose from on the internet but the best email marketing software I can gladly recommend is GetResponse autoresponder. With this online business automation software, you can do a whole slew of things on the web hands free.

This is all it takes to start building an email list of subscribers. First, create self-hosted WordPress blog on your domain name for free. Secondly, write and publish content regularly for your target audience to read, know, like and trust you as the go-to expert, guy or gal on the subject.

Thirdly, build relationship and trust with them. Next, create a free ebook or video which you can give away to your potential readers who sign up for your business newsletter. Your lead magnet should be of high quality. You can research questions which your target niche are asking and provide the answers in your ebook, video or podcast. Also, you can look out for specific problems they want to solve and supply the solutions in your handbook or blueprint.

For you to successfully build an email list of subscribers from scratch, you need to have the following online business tools in place:
  1. Registered domain name
  2. Website hosting service
  3. Email marketing software
  4. Lead magnet
  5. Landing page to capture leads
  6. Targeted traffic to your lead capture page

List building can help you to grow your online business exponentially if you know what you’re doing. If you’ve at least 1,000 email list of subscribers, you can be making $500 in passive income online monthly when you promote targeted products to them.

The three methods explained above are the best ways to monetize your blog and make passive income online. Sooner or later, I’ll publish a detailed blog post to explore all known, tried and tested blog monetization methods I’ve researched and seen veteran bloggers use.

The best way to answer the question of how to monetize a blog is for you to use contextual links in your content. This seems to work great and get results. People try to follow text links that will add value to their experience. If your content is good to great, you’re sure of getting clicks to your landing pages. Another option is to make use of blog side bar. Simply place banners, say 125 by 125 sizes, and link them to your target locations.

In conclusion, as a blogger, you’ve to test every variable to know what works and improve on it. In my next blog post, I’ll look at how to get targeted traffic to your website or blog on a constant basis. Without regular and increasing website visitors who will hopefully become your subscribers and customers ultimately, it will be difficult for you to maintain and make money from your blog.

How to Start Your Own Business Online Part 3

In today’s blog article in our series on how to start your own business online, I’ll delve into details on how to create content for blog that will help you to draw in free targeted traffic from search engines like clockwork. It doesn’t matter which niche market you’re operating from; you can create great content that your target audience will be happy to read, share and link to from external sources. All you’ve to do is to do a bit of research in addition to what you already know, and write and publish it as a blog post.

You can read part 1 and part 2 of this series from here and here respectively if you haven’t done so before now. As much as I’m concerned, it is only half truth to say “content is king.” What will always qualify as king is useful and relevant content and only your readers can determine that. And the best way to make your readers determine in advance if your content is relevant to them is to answer their questions or provide solutions to their problems through your blog posts or articles.

Creating a great content is all about following basic structure or layout of writing an article i.e.
-Blog post title
-Introduction
-Article body
-Conclusion

Let’s quickly go through each of the above items to understand it better.

Blog Post Title

Every blog article must have a title that is catchy and clickable. If potential readers are not inclined to click on the title of your blog post especially from the SERP (search engine results page), it means you’ve not done enough ground work with regard to your published content.

As you may already know, majority of information seekers use the search engines to find products, services or content that they want to learn more about. They usually type “search queries” into the blank search box of the major search engines like Google.com to get the expected information.

These search terms are otherwise known as keyword phrases. Your first task before writing a blog post is to research the type of keywords your readers will use to find your content and include it in your blog post title. If no one is clicking on your title, it clearly means it sucks. In such cases, you may be compelled to revise it to make it better.

The second step is to write short but attention pulling meta data (especially the meta description) that clearly assures an info seeker that you’ve the solution or answer to his or her search query from your website. Meta description is that little blurb for your blog content which the search engines have indexed below the title of your post. You can see it in the image below.

Metadata

However, if you’re a beginning digital marketer, it is highly advisable you target long tail keyword phrases so that you can stand a chance of ranking in search engine results page especially on the first page i.e. from positions 1 to 10.

Introduction

The introduction of your blog post is the opening paragraph and it should state the problem or question in your reader’s mind and a sneak peek into the solution or answer you’re going to provide for them i.e. what to expect from your content. You may be fighting a losing battle with your competitors if you cannot grab your readers’ attention with the blog post title and in the opening paragraph of the article.

These elements (title and intro) should be the hooks you need to keep your readers glued and engaged to your blog and its content for a longer period of time. You’ve to engage them not to click away from your website until you’ve successfully guided them to your CTA (call to action) section of the content.

It’s the introduction of the blog post that will usher your website visitors to the body of the text. It’s imperative you take extra time and care to craft it. But in the event you suck at writing, there is no problem at all. All you’ve to do is to hire a freelance writer like yours truly who understands your content needs and you’ll hit the ground running in no time!

Body of the Content

A lot of bloggers and webmasters do not know that the big search engines like Google and co are now rooting for complete content. If you’re not willing to give it all, your competitors will do. In the body of your blog post, provide the information your readers expect from you. Don’t skimp!

You’re using your blog article to build relationship and trust with your target audience. As soon as your readers know, like and trust you, it will make it easier for you to ask them to take the desired action and achieve the overall goal of your online business blog.

But to make your blog post readable and interesting, you may want to follow this basic writing advice:

-Write in short paragraphs
-Use bullet points
-List items for easy digestion
-Have clear CTA (call to action)
-Use headings and sub headings
-Make use of appropriate lexicon related to your niche market

Conclusion

The conclusion is the close of your post where you share your final thoughts and opinions. It is also the time to ask your readers for their comments, thoughts and contributions to the blog post. If you’ve not done so before, it’s now the time for CTA. Here is when you’ll wrap things up in logical conclusion and order.

Most veteran bloggers and writers will advice beginning writers to write the introduction and conclusion after writing the content of the post. This will give you a better idea of what to include in the opening and closing paragraphs of your blog post and make them stronger.

Briefly, here’s my checklist lowdown of what makes a great content.
i.                     Target long tail keywords
ii.                   Provide useful and relevant content in your article
iii.                  Create problem-solving or answer-giving content
iv.                 Determine your writing style and voice i.e. conversational and interactive
v.                   Use appropriate lexicon and jargons related to your niche market
vi.                  Write for human readers first and search engine crawlers second
vii.                Create long form blog posts as against short form blog articles where necessary
viii.              Cite verifiable statistical examples, sources and references in your blog posts to buttress your points
ix.                 Vary the types of content you create and publish on your blog i.e. list type, ultimate guide, case studies, how to, step by step, review, etc

In conclusion, bear it in mind that writing an article that is worth sharing and linking to, requires planning and following the basic writing process steps and any blogger can do it including you. This is how to create content for blog you own. In my next blog post, I’ll publish information on how to monetize your blog to earn money online which should be your ultimate desire.

How to Start Your Own Business Online Part 2

In part 1 of our how to start your own business online, I explained how to find business ideas to start, how to decide on a niche market to target, how to conduct keyword research, how to register a domain name and how to buy web hosting. In today’s blog post, I’ll go into the details of how to start a blog with WordPress CMS (content management system) platform.

But before you can successfully complete this step, you’ve to register your domain name and purchase web site hosting. It will offer you the ability to install WordPress blog on your domain for free. With HostGator web hosting service, you can create a blog with one-click WordPress install and I’m using their cPanel dashboard to explain the WordPress blog tutorial on this page.

Basically, there are two areas I’ll cover on how to start a blog, namely:

-Installing the bare bones of WordPress (WP) on your domain, and
-Customizing and optimizing your WP blog.

Before you start your blog, remember to conduct keyword research so that you can determine in advance the search terms you’ve to target on your website and the search query to include in your domain name address. Keyword research is an integral part of every successful online business. It helps you to focus on publishing content around the needs of your target audience.

When you write SEO articles specifically targeting profitable search queries, you’ll stand a chance of attracting highly targeted readers and leads to your blog all for free from organic search results of the big search engines like Google.com and Bing.com.

When you get web hosting from HostGator, they will send your hosting details to the email address which you provided during the sign up process. You’ve to follow the URL supplied by HostGator to log in to your cPanel dashboard or simply type domainurl.com/cpanel on the browser to sign in using your username and password. But you’ve to replace domainurl.com with the actual name of your domain followed by the appropriate extension i.e. .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, etc.

Step #1: Install the Bare Bones of WordPress on Your Domain
QuickInstall image

While at your hosting dashboard, scroll down to “Software” section and click on “QuickInstall” icon. It will take you to “Site Builders & CMS” page. Click on the WordPress link as shown in the image below

WordPress 1-click install

You’ll be taken to a page where you can select the domain name you want to install your WordPress blog on. If it is your primary and only domain in the account, just select it to go to the next step. Next, fill out all the blank fields to complete your WP blog installation. These fields include blog title, admin user, first name, last name and email address.

Blog title and other info fill out

You must make sure you’ve included your primary keyword in the blog title. You can change it later when customizing and optimizing your blog anyway. For you to be able to complete the blog installation process, you must tick the check box beside “Terms of Service Agreement” as shown below.

On completion of WP installation, HostGator (or any other reliable web hosting you’re using) will send you a success report of your installation which will include admin username and auto generated password. You can change this password later in the WordPress admin dashboard area.

WordPress Installation complete

Step #2: Customize and Optimize Your Blog

The next task is for you to customize and optimize your blog in order to prime it up for search engines. Firstly, log in to your WP account from your browser using your username/email address followed with the associated password. The address you’ve to type on your browser will be https://domainurl.com/wp-login.php. Of course, you’ve to replace domainurl.com with your actual domain name.

While at your WordPress account dashboard, there are so many things you can do to improve the look and feel of your blog and increase its functionality. At the left hand side of your dashboard are various icons which you can click on to change and update everything related to your blog.

WordPress dashboard icons

The first basic task which you’ve to complete is from the “Settings” tab. If you hover the cursor over the settings tab, a sub menu will show up i.e. general, writing, reading, discussion, media, permalinks and privacy.

WP Settings sub menu tabs

Click on the “General” tab to update the blog title, tagline and your WordPress and Site Addresses. If you prefer your website URL to have the www always included in it, simply add the “www”  without the quotes to the default naked URL.

For example,
Naked URL will read: http://businessdoer.com

Full URL will read: http://www.businessdoer.com

The tagline should include the secondary keyword that you’re targeting while the blog title will be your main keyword. Scroll down and click the “Save Changes” button to update and save.

Next, click on the “Permalinks” tab to update the default web page URL to search engine friendly URL. To do this, simply click the radio button beside “Post name” and save your changes.

The “Reading” tab is the next item I usually edit to suit my needs. First, click on it to open the page. You can then edit the:

“Blog pages show at most” 10 posts to 5 posts
“Syndication feeds show the most recent” 10 items to 5 items
“For each article in a feed,” click the radio button beside "summary"

Before (default):
Reading tab

After (edited):

This is what I prefer to do for good reasons. I don’t want lots of posts to be showing up on my blog. I want my readers to search around my blog to find more information. I think five blog posts are enough to display at a time. Also, I believe showing five items at a time on the syndication feed is okay as well.

Clicking the radio button beside the “Summary” in the section that reads “For each article in a feed,” any blog post showing up in the feeds will not display all the content. So, if your reader is interested in the whole blog article, he/she will be forced to come to your blog to read more.

There are lots of housekeeping details you need to complete in order to fully customize and optimize your blog. But these basic tasks are enough to get you started. But if your goal is to learn how to make money blogging, you should go and download our ultimate guide to blogging right away to get started in earnest.

Another area you’ve to take care of immediately is installing analytics which will help you to analyze sources of traffic and the types of keywords website visitors are typing into the search engines to arrive at your blog. With the free Google Analytics and Google webmasters tools, you’ve what it takes to get everything set up.

Also, from the “Appearance” tab, you can locate “Theme” section where you can upload or change your current theme. Theme gives the look and feel of your blog. There are free themes from the WordPress database if you don’t have the budget to invest in a premium theme at the moment.

In the same vein, from the “PlugIn” tab, you’re at liberty to upload various free and paid plugins to increase the functionality of your blog website. For example, the All-In-One SEO Pack is an essential plugin which every online business owner should get to improve its blog search engine optimization.

In my next blog post, I’ll discuss how to create content and publish on your blog. If you want to generate free targeted traffic to your website on a constant basis, you need superior content to stand out from the competition.

Researching long tail keyword phrases, planning and writing blog posts around these keywords before publication must not be done haphazardly. You need content strategy to get ahead of others. This is what I’ll write and publish so that you can be guaranteed of regular website visitors.

How to Start Your Own Business Online

how to start your own business online
Do you want to learn how to start your own business online? Do you desire to earn money online with little investment? Let me assure you right away that it’s possible to make a living on the internet if you’ve valuable product, service or information to share with a targeted group of people who are interested and in need of it. In this blog post and other series that follow, I’ll teach and walk you through every step you’ve to take to succeed with your online business ideas.

First, you’ve to prepare yourself for the hard work ahead. Building your first and second business websites will involve a lot of hard work and learning. Frankly speaking, there is no easy route to legitimate wealth and riches anywhere in the world. Whoever will promise you otherwise is a con artist or fraudster waiting to prey on you! You must be ready and willing to pay it forward before you get rewarded in the end.

Unfortunately, this is where lots of aspiring entrepreneurs fail to understand that doing business and making money online is not all about get-rich-quick schemes. There is no one-click button to riches on the internet or anywhere else. Or, at least, not the one I know! You’ve to work and create value for others before you get paid.

Yes, it’s far better and cheaper to start an online business than starting a brick-and-mortar business. With less than $150 startup costs, you can start full-fledged and profitable business from home on the internet and be fine. However, you’ll require requisite knowledge and skills to tie everything together seamlessly and succeed.

Side Note: If you’re working with a tight budget and don’t have $150 to start an online business immediately, you can get a copy of my ebook titled, “The Legitimate Online Millionaire Blogger.” It’s a comprehensive course on how to start a blog with little investment and earn money online in 90 days or less guaranteed.

With that said, let’s take it one step at a time to explain everything you need to know to start making money on the internet.

Step #1: Find a Business Idea to Start With

This is the starting point and foundation of your business success. If you fail to get it right at this stage, you’ll continue to struggle without getting any result. There are 1,001 online business opportunities out there that you can start with but I’ll advise you to consider your skills and talents in line with what you’re deciding to do. A lot of beginning internet entrepreneurs starts with affiliate marketing business but you must not follow suit if it‘s not your forte.

There are other online business models including freelance writing, domain investing, coaching or mentoring, writing and selling ebooks, freelance business, building forum or membership site around your expertise, and so on. Take the time to do your research and due diligence so that you’ll be convinced of what you want to start with and make money on the internet.

Basically, there are two ways to decide the type of business you should start with. Firstly, you can start a business where you have passion or interest. This can be your hobby, experience, knowledge, interest, training, tutelage, and so on. The only task you have to perform here is to test if the business idea is commercially viable on the World Wide Web before starting with it.

For example, if you’ve experience in music or you’re passionate about it, you can start with that business idea after conducting keyword and market research for commercial viability. There are free and paid online business tools to conduct this research including keyword research tools, forums, surveys, questionnaires, etc.

The second option is to “follow the money.” This is when your primary concern is the commercial viability of a business idea before you go for it. It doesn’t matter whether it is your area of specialization or not. Your goal is to do whatever it takes and is possible to build a website or start a blog around your topic or subject and adequately monetize it. You can either learn the subject by reading extensively or simply outsource content writing to freelance writers. It’s your call!

In our online business newsletter, I regularly discuss and explain to our email list subscribers my personal experience with every internet business I’ve ventured into. I release free case studies from time to time including my successes and failures on every internet business opportunity. It’s your first hand business success guide which you cannot afford to ignore or miss.

In this blog article, I’ll use affiliate marketing business as an example to demonstrate how to make money on the internet in 90 days or less. Stay with me and you’ll be glad you did!

Step #2: Decide on a Niche to Focus on

It doesn’t matter the type of online business model you’ve decided to start with, you’ve to find a niche market to target. The idea here is for you to narrow down and focus your efforts on doing something you enjoy and are good at. You cannot be here and there and expect to succeed.

What then is a niche? Simply put, a niche is a smaller or mini part of a big market. For example, “general health” is a big market to look at right away. But if we narrow it down, we can consider “women’s health” as a niche. I can even dig deeper to focus more on “women with acne” or “women with acne during pregnancy” and start an online business by writing, teaching and promoting content around that subject topic. It is as simple as that!

As an online business owner or webmaster, you’ll do well if you start focusing and working in niche markets until you’ve a good grasp of digital marketing inside out. You can use this system to start affiliate marketing business, build Google Adsense websites or create landing pages to sell your own products and services. It depends on what you like to do in order to earn money online.

Because I’m teaching you how to start your own business online, I’ll concentrate on “make money online” niche to drive home my point. You can use the same process to build your business around any blog website idea. There is nothing complicated about this process if you follow my tutorial to a Tee.

Some obvious niche markets include:
-Dating
-Forex
-Hosting
-Finance
-Health & Fitness
-Personal Development
-Investing
-Travelling
-Technologies
-Cooking
-Jobs & Employments
-Education
-Home & Garden
-Green Products
-Parenting
-Games
-Entertainment
-Etc

Let’s take an example with the “investing” market. You can launch a blog focusing on “stock investing” and then “penny stocks investing” as your niche i.e. Investing>>Stock Investing>>Penny Stock Investing. As a penny stock blogger, you may want to target keyword phrases such as:

-How to buy penny stocks
-How to buy penny stocks without a broker
-Where to buy penny stocks
-List of penny stocks
-Penny stocks to buy
-Etc

I discovered the above list of search terms from launching the free Google Keyword Planner tool in my Google Ads account.

Step #3: Conduct Keyword Research

This step involves using keyword research tool to uncover search queries which your target audience is entering into search engines to find their desired products, services or information from the web. These types of keyword phrases are what you’ll create unique content around.

It will not make any sense to start a blog and publish articles on it with vague key phrases which no one is looking for. You’ve to focus on words which online shoppers and information seekers are actively typing into Google.com or other popular search engines if your aim is to get free targeted traffic on a continuous basis.

For the make money online niche, you may want to look out for additional keywords such as:
-Earn money online
-Work from home jobs
- Best way to make money online
-Make money from home
-Ways to make money from home
-Etc

I used the free Google Keyword Planner tool to find these search terms in a matter of minutes and you can even target specific countries or cities in your research if you like. For a start, aim at targeting 10 to 20 long tail keyword phrases. You don’t have to go for overly competitive keywords because you may never rank for them at any time soon.

But be sure each keyword has an average monthly search volume of at least 1,000 and above and the competition is surmountable so that you can reasonably rank on positions 1 to 3 of page one of Google.com.

Step #4: Register a Domain Name

This step is the simplest where you’ve to register a domain name with your target keyword in the URL (universal resource locator). These days, it is difficult finding available exact match domain to register except you’re lucky to grab one from expired domains list. However, you can easily get an available domain name by adding a descriptive word as prefix or suffix to the keyword.

Just recently I agreed to partner with my spouse to register a domain name and use it to create a blog to teach our intending target audience how to start a business from home and make money. But because I needed a short and easy to remember domain, I’ve to settle for a business keyword. Clearly, my target keyword is “business” but I’ve to include a suffix in order to find an available name.

In my earlier penny stocks example, you may buy a domain like PennyStocksHub.com or PennyStocksNow.com if they are available to hand register. All I did was to add “hub” and “now” to the keyword phrase “penny stocks.”

Personally, I like to separate my domain name registration from my web hosting company. So, I mainly use NameSilo.com to register my domains and HostGator.com to buy website hosting services. NameSilo.com offers cheap domain name registration and HostGator.com provides excellent hosting services that are unbeatable at the moment.

Step #5: Buy Web Hosting

Website hosting is the kernel of every successful online business. From the beginning, you’ve to go for reliable web hosting so that your blog or website will be alive and live 24/7. There are many website hosting companies around but I make use of HostGator.com for their reliability, excellent customer support team and 99.9 percent uptime guarantee.

If you wish to sign up right away, you can also get free domain name when buying web hosting services from them. All you have to do is to make use of HostGator coupon code in bold, STANDOUTBEST, to get discount from your hosting fees. Simply type, STANDOUTBEST, in the coupon code field and click the apply button to reflect your discount.

I’ll advise you to subscribe to the HostGator Baby Plan which will enable you to host unlimited domain names on the same account. This will be great when your online businesses start growing and expanding. Better yet, you’re only paying $3.95 per month hosting fees to host as many domain names you are registering for your businesses.

If you buy a domain name and purchase web hosting, the next step is to install self-hosted WordPress blog on your domain which is free to do. Your HostGator web hosting account dashboard will make it easy to create a blog for free. In my next post, I’ll explain the basic tasks you’ve to complete in this step. You can bookmark this blog so that you don’t miss the blog installation tutorial. You’ll succeed!
